April
April is a great Great Pyr. She is huge and clumsy and lazy an she is my best friend.
On the topic of running: April never runs (except when cats are in sight). The idea of getting a dog in order to improve my lifestyle (long walks 3 times a day, jogging along the beach etc.) never really worked. However, I wouldn’t change a thing :-).
So the running goes on despite April rather than because of her. On the positive end, she is a great fan and never forgets to give me a warm welcome when I return from my workout, no matter how sweaty I am.
Update on 14 April 2012: April passed away yesterday. Luckily, I am not alone – I am running with V now and together, we decided to form a mini-running team “AprilRuns.” It is our tribute to our fantastic dog.

Awww, I’m sad to read this. Thought I’d pop into your about page after reading your post today. Looks like April was pretty lovable. I’ve lost a couple of dogs in the past too so my heart goes out to you.

Thank you so much. April was my first dog and she will always have a major place in my heart. So friendly and beautiful and understanding, a true friend – yes, I know, she was ‘just’ a dog but still…
